The Rules
Starting the game
Remove Booming Boobies from the deck of birds (cards)
Shuffle and deal cards to each player:
2 players – 6 cards
3 players – 5 cards
4 players – 4 cards
5 players – 3 cards
6 players – 2 cards
Place Booming Boobies back in the deck and place it in the middle of the players. This is the draw deck.
The player who last saw a bird in real life will start the game
Gameplay
Each turn consistents of two phases.
– First phase: Playing the cards
The player plays any number of birds they wish. They do not have to play any cards.
Once a card is played, it is added to the discard pile – unless it is the Golden Goose or Flaming Galah
– Second phase: Ending the turn.
The player announces to everyone they are ending their turn and then draws a card from the draw deck – if the player has zero cards when ending their turn, then the player draws two cards.
The next player (clockwise from the previous player) then takes a turn.
The game ends when the last card is drawn. This card cannot be played. However if it is a booming booby, you must still discard three birds!
How to win
The aim of the game is to collect and protect your innocent chicks.
Whoever has the most innocent chicks at the end of the game, wins!
If there are multiple player has the same number of innocent chicks, then the one with the highest total number of cards will win.
If that the total number of innocent chicks and cards are the same between players, then the game those players are joint winners.
Interrupt Cards

Interrupt cards, such as Bouncing Penguin and Intercepting Hawk are only played when another action or attack card is being played.
They have no effect on whether the card is discarded or not after being played.
Example:
Player A plays Swift Bomber and then Player B plays Falcon Interceptor. The attack is cancelled and both cards go on the discard pile.
If someone plays Golden Goose and then Falcon Interceptor is played, The action is cancelled and only Falcon Interceptor goes on the discard pile.
Interrupt cards can interrupt “interrupt cards” if they match the type.
Intercepting hawk can cancel Intercepting Hawk & Bouncing Penguin. But Bouncing Penguin cannot interrupt Falcon Interceptor.
Example:
Player A plays Raging Cassowary. Then Player B plays Falcon Interceptor to cancel it, and then Player A plays an Falcon Interceptor is to cancel Player B’s Falcon Interceptor – would result in Raging Cassowary still being played!
Individual cards
Innocent Chick

Hold the most innocent chicks at the end of the game to win!
Tip: Keep track of the approximate number of remaining turns in the game so you know when to prioritise chick stealing!
Booming Booby

The unfortunate player that picks up this card must immediately discard three cards. If the player has less than three cards, they must discard those cards.
Swift Bomber

Play this during your turn to select another player and pick a card to discard.
The other player should not show you their cards when this is happening.
Then discard this card.
Parroting Macaw

At any time (including another players turn), repeat the last played action or attack. You may change the player target. Everyone treats this action or attack as if it came from you.
Parroting macaw, in the rule repeats the last card played. This can include interrupts, such as intercepting hawk and Bouncing Penguin. It also includes Clever Crow and even another Parroting Macaw! A parroting Macaw will copy the last Parroting Macaw’s copied card.
Parroting Macaw can only repeats actions or attacks that were completed. You cannot mimic an attack before they have finished picking their opponents cards.
However if the attack was cancelled, you can mimic the Falcon Interceptor, resulting in the original attack succeeding.
In the event of copying a clever crow, the parroting macaw becomes uninterruptable too.
Bouncing Penguin

Play during any attack, redirect it to a player of your choosing. Everyone now treats the attack as if it came from you.
Multiple Bouncing Penguins can be played for the same action/attack.
Example:
Player A plays Fishing Frigate. Then Player B plays Bouncing Penguin to bounce back to player A. Player C then could play Bouncing Penguin to redirect the player back to Player B to steal his cards.
Shocking Vulture

Pick up the card on the top of the discard pile, and then place this card on the discard pile.
You cannot pick up the last card on the discard pile if it is Shocking Vulture – otherwise the game could never end!
Owl Micromanager

Look at the next five cards from the draw deck and rearrange them in any order.
Then place them back on top of the draw deck.
Thieving Magpie

Pick another player’s card and add it to your card hand.
Fishing Frigate

Pick two cards from another player and add them both to your card hand.
The two cards must be from the same player.
If this card is interrupted, any cards that were stolen remain in the owners hand. The bouncing penguin redirects the remaining attacks. So you have to be quick to maximise usefulness of the bouncing penguin!
Rampaging Cassowary

Pick up to three cards from other players and place them on the discard pile.
You can pick the three cards from multiple players.
If this attack is interrupted, any cards placed on the discard pile remain there, and the bouncing penguin redirects the remaining attacks. So you have to be quick to maximise usefulness of the bouncing penguin!
Falcon Interceptor

Play this during any action or attack. This can be even during another players turn. The action or attack is cancelled.
Holy Dove

Place this card on the discard pile.

Golden Goose

Draw one card.
This does not end your turn.
Do not place this card on the discard pile after use.
This card can only be used once per turn.
If you draw the last card in the draw deck during this action. You are still able to continue to play until you declare that you are ending your turn and the game.
Flaming Galah
